WHO ARE THE WOLVES?

Of those who cry wolf like mischievous children, and who will not be heard when fiercer creatures come to devour them whole, I would like to know: what would they have done with their little hands, which have never held a weapon, if the most powerful man in the world had truly performed a Nazi salute before their eyes?
Would they still pretend to be afraid, or would they truly feel fear and act accordingly?
Since January 20, the great banquet of terror has given rise to unsettling mass movements, a series of thoughtless, excessive, irrational reactions that, most disturbingly, are identical to one another. Between Donald Trump's inauguration and today, I’ve seen the same absurd post circulate hundreds of times on my Facebook feed: a freeze-frame of Elon Musk raising his arm, accompanied by an outraged comment and a call to resistance.
The replication does not only occur in the sharing of the same content but also in behaviors and expressions of individuals, all subjected to a similar regime of hysterical emotions.
It feels like a collective psychosis. The wokes would call it a moral panic.
Yet, despite its noisy aggressiveness, the grand anti-Nazi parade sounds strangely hollow. Could it be, as one might say of someone who screams too loudly in bed, a simulation?
Real resistance fighters in history didn’t retreat to Mastodon or Bluesky. They shut their mouths and risked their lives against very real enemies. So why all this noise?
My personal theory is that most of these people crying wolf are simply pretending to be concerned about a resurgence of Nazism.
There are three distinct levels of consciousness within leftism, distributed among three well-defined categories of leftists:
First, there are those who know, those fully aware of what they are doing. These are the most cynical, the most manipulative, and, in truth, the only real scoundrels. I will elaborate on this later.
Then there are the second group, those who are simply deceived and manipulated, swept up in a herd-like emotional response that cultural leftism knows how to generate and activate. Exemplarily, we saw decent people get caught up in the "anti-fascist barrier" during recent electoral events in France, intimidated and frightened by the dominant classes' injunctions to preserve the status quo. The elites succeeded in framing a structured, state-orchestrated movement of conservation as a moment of citizen revolution. Many naïve and well-meaning people were convinced that the interests of the ruling class aligned with their own, which allowed the most odious and corrupt politicians to keep their seats, privileges, and positions.
Finally, there’s the third group: the most unbalanced, the most fragile, those who, swallowing it all, might take the joke seriously and act on it.
I’m thinking of Thomas Matthew Crooks, now deceased, shot by security forces as he attempted to assassinate the current sitting U.S. president.
The poor boy had been convinced, through a frenzy of alarmist rhetoric, that by making this sacrificial act, he would save his country and protect humanity from an irreversible catastrophe. I wonder if the true culprits behind his death are aware today that they have blood on their hands. It is, however, evident that the invectives of first-category leftists, continuously brandishing the specter of mortal danger and using every rhetorical device to terrorize sensitive souls, played a part in arming his hand.
The same could happen here in France, a country adrift, filled with its share of desperate, gullible, angry, and deranged people.
And many of them have weapons at home or can procure them.
A former left-wing prime minister once admitted that it was all a sham. That the fight against fascism was a masquerade, a theatrical performance, a circus act to intimidate and subordinate the masses.
Twenty years later, the carnival continues. And the underlying objective is now almost openly acknowledged. These people cannot stand the idea of losing an election and are literally willing to do anything to ensure their defeat never happens.
I accuse leftists of wishing for the death of their political opponents and inciting the most damaged among them to get their hands dirty on their behalf.
